Mendocino Brewing is excited to announce that they will be pouring at the Outside Lands Festival at San Francisco’s Golden Gate Park! This is one of the biggest music festivals on the West Coast, and tickets have already sold out. This year, Mendocino Brewing will be serving to the sounds of Tom Petty, Kanye West, Death Cab for Cutie and Ray LaMontagne—to name just a few—and the party will last for three days, from August 8-10.
The Outside Lands Music and Arts Festival was first held in 2008, and from the beginning it was geared toward being eco-friendly by encouraging ride sharing and responsible recycling. That environmentally responsible principle has remained since the first fest, and each year the festival organizers coordinate with Clean Vibes to help ensure the highest possible recycling rates. All the eating utensils are 100 percent recyclable, and this year the festival will offer an improved refillable water program through their partnership with FloWater. Festival goers can also learn how to compost with worms, build a small solar habitat or create wearable art by up-cycling used goods.
This year, Outside Lands has partnered with Jeben Berg and Juxtapoz Magazine to entice a talented troupe of visual artists to the festival. Hailing from San Francisco and elsewhere around the world, these artists will be creating and displaying a wide array of art, from art-performance to musical theater. There will also be live painting daily, and the artistic action can be followed on Instagram at #OLOutsiderArt.
The selection of food at the festival will dazzle even the most intrepid eater. With menu choices from more than 70 restaurants and food trucks around the area, visitors can sample dishes from mac and cheese to chicken curry nachos. And this year, serious foodies can visit the GastroMagic stage, where food, music and magic come together to create an interactive dining experience!
Of course, the main event of the Outside Lands Festival for many people is the music. In fact, the Weekly Pint rated the fest as one of the top music festivals for beer lovers. With classic headliners mingling with new and indie artists, there’s plenty of opportunity to check out old favorites while also discovering somebody new. And to help sort through the array of choices, the Mercury News staff has put together their list of 12 acts not to be missed.
Ah, beer. Now we’re talking! The craft beer lineup for this year’s fest was curated by Dave McLean of Magnolia Brewing, and the breweries are top-notch! Mendocino Brewing will be pouring their Seasonal White Ale and Talon Double IPA alongside other regional breweries—including Firestone Walker, Drakes, Stone and North Coast. Stop by the booth, grab a beer, and come say hi!
